A Face Full of Fonts

Newspaper Me

A self-portrait created entirely from bits of newspaper. It makes heavy use of varying font sizes and of different font styles , specifically the visual difference between fonts with and without serifs. You can see this most clearly in the “quietly busy” background, which has subtle pattern variations and separates itself from the portrait in the foreground through the distinctive visual texture of small sans serif fonts. You can see the interplay between font sizes in the background as well, with the “bubbly” attitude given off by the larger fonts in contrast with the aligned smaller fonts.
